Rip your DVDs

Rip your DVDs review

Friday, 11 June 2010

Rip your DVDs is a very simple program that does exactly what it says on the tin. It simplifies the process of copying DVDs into a single click.

The software allows you to copy your DVDs on to cheap CD-R discs (it usually takes 2 to 3 discs to store a single DVD movie) or on to another DVD. The makers boast that the product will defeat any copyright protection – but of course that would be illegal :)

This product is for the user that simply wants to copy DVDs onto another disc, Period. There are zero bells and whistles. In fact it is easier to list the things this software DOES NOT do:

  • There are no options to convert the DVDs into file formats for playback on mobile devices (such as iPods or iPhones).

  • You cannot copy Blu-Ray discs or burn DVDs to Blu-Ray

  • There are no editing tools

So if you're after simplicity this may be the tool for you, but if you're after a bit more flexability in how to view your DVDs then consider a higher end product.

Other names: Rip your DVDs, ripyourdvds.com, Ripp your DVD's
Requirements: Windows XP | Windows Vista | Windows 7
